Welcome back, listeners! We're thrilled to be with you again, diving deeper into the world of audio gear. In our last mini cast, we raved about microphones—especially the Shure MV7+ (still not sponsored...yet!). But today, we’re shifting our focus to the listener's experience—specifically headsets, earbuds, and computer audio.
🎧 Topics Covered:
Our current favorite headphones and why we love them
Why ambient noise matters more than you think
How different audio setups can affect meetings, workouts, and walks
The science behind focus, distraction, and task-switching (and a teaser for an upcoming episode on that!)
🛠️ Gear We Mentioned (Not Sponsored, Just Loved):
Shure MV7+ microphone
OneOdio over-ear headphones (Bluetooth + hardwired)
TOSO headsets (great for workouts and meetings)
Other earbuds tried: Jabra, Bose, and various looped models
🤓 Voice Coach Pro Tip:
If you’re doing any sort of vocal coaching, presenting, or listening critically—ditch the computer speakers. Go for something that isolates audio. Your brain (and your audience) will thank you.
💬 Listener Question:
Do earbuds fall out of your ears too? Do you prefer over-the-ear headsets or something else for meetings and walks? We’d love to hear your audio adventures! Drop us a voice note or email for a chance to be featured on a future episode. Also, please listen, like and give us a 5 star review.

Noise reduction and sound absorption are two important factors discussed in today's episode. We interview Ian Siegner, of Siegner and Company, an Oregon based commercial painting company that also installs acoustic panels manufactured by FabriTrak. Ian talks about the process he went through to add another line of business, the importance of working with a top-notch company like FabriTrak, and using a product that is 100% made in America, and not subject to tariffs.
Ian explains the various uses of acoustic panels to improve sound quality and the fact that they are custom made for each client. The Siegner and Company team custom design the panels to meet the client's needs and wants, and matches their corporate colors. Flexibility is the name of the game from using various colors of felt, nylon fabric and even printed graphics to capture the right look.
Kimberli comments on sound absorption and noise reduction and how it relates to brain science. Discussed the various types of establishments that should consider acoustic panels from restaurants, meeting rooms and converted warehouses to wedding venues.
If you want to talk about acoustic panels, reach out to Ian Siegner, contact information below. He is offering a 25% discount!!! Link and promo code below.
